April 2021 - So much to celebrate!! Madison (now Dr. Green) has successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation, Mary has successfully defended her M.S. thesis, and Cameron has successfully defended his Honors thesis. Also, Cameron took home third place in the CBAS poster competition. AND Meghan and Maria have been awarded summer URECA fellowships. Way to go team!!

August 2020 - Great working with Dr. Steven Cobb, Durham University, to publish our review on anti-infective peptoids, now out in Chemical Communications.
June 2020 - Happy to see Madison's first 1st author paper out in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents detailing his efforts comparing the antimicrobial activity of antimicrobial peptides with their peptoid mimcs.

April 2019 - Congrats to Sabrina and the rest of the antimicrobial team on publication of their work characterizing the therapeutic properties of our antifungal peptoid, AEC5, in Biopolymers! This work wouldn't have been possible without our wonderful collaborator, Dr. Erin McClelland.

April 2017 - Proud to share that our very own Scott Armstrong took 2nd place in CBAS at the Scholars Week poster event. He then topped that off by winning the ACS Organic Chemist Award at MTSU. Way to go Scott!
March 2017 - Congratulations to Jeremy on a hard earned publication in ACS Combi. Sci. regarding the importance of lipophilicity in the design of combinatorial antimicrobial peptoid libraries.
October 2016 - Following our earlier publication in May, the Bicker Lab celebrates publication of the extension of the PLAD assay to identify a peptoid with antifungal activity against Cryptococcus neoformans. Congratulations to Ashley, Scott, and Matt.
August 2016 - As the semester starts, the Bicker Lab celebrates filing of a provisional patent regarding a potent antifungal agent!
May 2016 - The Bicker Lab has it's seminal publication on the antimicrobial project in ACS Combinatorial Science! A big thanks to Kevin, Jeremy, and Ashley for all their hard work!
May 2016 - Ashley Corson and Andrea King have graduated with their Bachelor's degrees and are moving on to bigger and better things. Congratulations Ashley and Andrea!
December 2015 - Congratulations to Kevin Fisher and Sultan Almadhhi who graduated with their Master's degree after successfully defending their thesis this fall!
November 2015 - The Bicker Lab had a strong showing at this years Southeastern Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society (SERMACS). Kevin Fisher, Sultan Almadhhi, Ashley Corson, and Dr. Bicker all presented their latest findings.
October 2015 - The Bicker Lab is in a partnership with Surfanetix, LLC to develop materials that can be used to clean up waste water streams contaminated with oil and surfactants. Learn more at http://www.surfanetix.com/
September 21, 2015 - Congratulations to Ashley Corson, who just received her second Undergraduate Research Experience and Creative Activity (URECA) grant. This grant will help fund her research into anti-fungal peptoids over the coming academic year.
